Tijuana Family Outreach Program
The Tijuana Family Outreach Program supports between 70 and 100 low resource/marginalized families in El Florido on the outskirts of Tijuana Mexico. The purpose of the program is to provide community integration and an opportunity for the families to receive needed resources and build supportive relationships with other neighbors.
We provide special events and festivals on International Day of the Child, Easter, School Supply Give Away Day & Christmas. Last year we provided women the tools and instruction to participate in a Pinata-making workshop. We also have baking project so women can learn to bake cakes /cookies and have a way to earn some extra income .
We provide used clothing & household items on an ongoing basis. On the first Sunday of the month we offer snacks with crafts & games afterwards. There are also visits from Counselors from The Counseling Dept. of The University of Baja California who provide Domestic Abuse Counseling & Parenting skills classes. The project is served by local volunteers who are dedicated to supporting their neighbors.
